Van's Book Corner

I am a SADIST. Yeah so I like to read all stories that are heart-wrenching, tear dropping and all. Most of the time I pick books that have strong female lead roles. Women that have been abused by loved ones etc.. This one I bought on Sunday...A story of a little girl Samira, brought up to be Samir (a boy's name) because her dad was ashamed that his firstborn was a girl.... then she had to choose between her desire to be Bashir's wife or betray her family and reveal her true identity... Apparently its REAL.... A must read.

An Italian Nite

Bye Bye to the last Tenor.... He stood behind the piano all nite. Didn't once move a spot! The conducter/pianist was amazing...and our Melbourne symphony orchestra was delightful too! Bravo Bravo.

Rice Addict

Been gaining massive weight on my hips since I got my part time job SITTING DOWN the whole day. Partly also due to the fact that I eat out more.....Aiyoooo.... So...I packed my own lunch this morning. Ume Rice Triangles. Carbs are not that bad for the body.

The Attack of the Muffin

Had pizza for dinner last nite. Left the leftovers on the coffee table. My dog couldn't resist the smell and decided to chew a hole through it while we were out....and ate all the pizza toppings!!!!!







Kimchi Chigae

Silky tofu hotpot with loads of kimchi (SPICY to the MAX!!!!!) and mushroom. Presentation not too good but its soooo good with white rice. These are the kind of stuff I eat when the fridge is empty and i couldn't be bothered to buy anything from Safeway/Coles.

Art on the Wall

Melbourne has so many kooky but nice art on the walls...Love it! Will be going to Pavarotti's Farewell Concert Tour this Saturday with Joe. Hopefully I can take a pic with him! Fat chance of that happening.

Go Healthy!

Had this grilled chicken thing on a bed of 'iron-ful' baby spinach, cherry tomatoes (my favourite!) and avocados. Chicken was tasty but too much avocado....made me sick. Avocados don't have any taste!
